We took a couple of days off to run away to the Adirondaks
. The cabin we stayed at is called "Wolf's Nest
". It is part of a larger property called Fourpeaks owned by a poet
, Martin Schwalbaum.
It is very secluded and quiet, about 5/8ths of a mile walk from where you can park the car. You get a jeep ride up and down. No electricity - so no TV or phone (yay). We talked, played chess, read, slept, hiked, and baked biscuits
(there is a gas stove and gas lights). No running water but wash water is brought up when you first come up. You can bring up drinking water. We brought a pump to treat the water, too. There is a gas refrigerator but we did not need it. Oh and there is a wonderful fireplace and a double bed with a down quilt. Very cozy. Definitely bake the biscuits
