Reflections on my first year. Still a work in progress. Feeling much more confident now, though. Still no regrets on my chosen path. Funny how my last two reflections posts echo each other. Variations on a theme. I did not notice this until after I made the post and looked back at my last one.

You have a nice blog. Please message me if you want to exchange link. Thanks! -http://philippinenurse.blogspot.com/
Monika, since you have so little time to blog, I suggest Twitter. 140 words or less is all you are allowed. Or go back to writing instead of video-blogging. Doesn't it take a lot more time to record and edit?
Best of luck on your continuing adventures.
This month marks year three for me, and much of the awkwardness is gone, and I have found a niche. But I've started into the ICU just in October, so it is still a work in progress.
But I kinda like that. You may come to enjoy that aspect of it, too. For me, nursing has been a constant learning process and that's fun. And on the other hand, I now feel confident talking to my very sick patient's husband about the disease process, meds, monitoring, pre- and post- op and anticipated rehabilitation from her bout of necrotizing fasciitis.
I crashed at month 6 into nursing, and it turned around and has since mostly stayed turned around and positive.
I wish the same for you.

Monika, I was attracted to your blog because I too am in my 40s and starting a career in nursing. I've only been working for a couple of weeks and am loving it, but I found myself connecting with you on so many levels with some of your other posts. I wish you had the time to blog more but do appreciate the posts that you took the time to make. I'm glad you've finally found your niche and wish you the best in your career and life.
