Thanks for sharing your personal story. Very brave. I will try to keep your words in mind as I start my clinical rotations.
I think people don't want to take the threat of suicide seriously because it's too traumatic and scary to actually face. But if someone is letting out a cry for help, we should all do our best to listen.
I had a friend in college who committed suicide without warning. No one has any clue/idea he would do it. So I agree with what you're saying... if someone is giving a sign, we should take it seriously.
You're right...many times there is no "sign" , no plan voiced...the family left behind combs their memory...crushed by guilt. No body knows how they have touched anothers life...today you touched mine. This was a beautiful way to discuss such an ugly and untalked about problem. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing this it brought tears to my eyes to see all the beautiful of your brother pictures and to imagine the pain you must of felt. I promise you that your blog is not in vain. I will do whatever I can to prevent something like this in my career.
